Human Design Type, Authority and Profile
Type, Authority, and Profile are three labels derived from a Human Design bodygraph, not three independently chosen personality traits. This guide lets you compare labels already shown in a calculated chart and preserves valid combinations from older search links. A link containing three labels cannot verify the birth date, time, place, gates, or channels that would produce them. Use the free bodygraph calculator first when you need your own result. Why Type and Authority cannot be mixed freely
In this system, Type follows the pattern of defined centres and the channels connecting them. Authority follows a hierarchy of centre definitions. Emotional Authority is associated with a defined Solar Plexus; Sacral Authority requires a defined Sacral without Emotional taking precedence. A Generator or Manifesting Generator can therefore be Emotional or Sacral, while the Reflector's all-open bodygraph is associated with Lunar Authority. A Projector can receive other authorities including Splenic, Ego, Self-Projected, and Mental, depending on definition. Manifestors have their own compatible authorities. This comparison prevents a combination that conflicts with those broad rules rather than inventing a reading for every possible string.
Jovian Archive's authority guide, from the system's original publisher, describes the hierarchy and the distinction among the named authorities. Its chart guide explains that birth date, time, and place are needed for the bodygraph. Those are references for how the system defines its own terms, not evidence that its claims have been scientifically established.
Profile depends on two imprints
Profile joins a Personality line and a Design line. This site's calculator displays twelve conventional line pairs such as 1/3, 2/4, 4/6, and 6/2. The first number does not identify Type, and the second does not identify Authority. Profile is read alongside the underlying Sun and Earth activations, not as a standalone forecast. Two people can share a Profile and still differ across almost every other gate and channel. Use the profile selector to name a known pair, not to infer one from temperament.
The system calculates Personality placements at the birth moment and Design placements at an earlier moment when the Sun was approximately 88 degrees behind its birth longitude. This is an angular calculation, not simply a fixed 88-day subtraction. A few minutes of birth-time uncertainty can change a line close to a boundary. Compare the exact clock time, time zone, birthplace, and activations when two calculators disagree; do not choose whichever label feels flattering.
Check the full bodygraph before a reading
A complete bodygraph has nine centres, 64 gates, and 36 possible channels. A channel is defined when both of its gates are active. The Jovian Archive channel reference documents the full 36-channel structure. Pull My Chart uses that topology to derive its displayed defined centres, Type, and Authority. A comparison page does not expose the entire graph or the birth inputs that led to it; it cannot replace the calculator or establish what is true for someone from a URL slug.
